The Bauer's Family Story

Hi! I'm Caroline. My family and I love our small mountain town and slow living. Spending time together up high in the mountains is the soup for our souls. My husband Björn is an architectural and adventure photographer and I work with my Dad, developing affordable assisted living in the midwest, but my passion is photographing weddings, engagements, and adventurous lifestyle photos. 9 months after our honeymoon, Björn and I became parents to our baby girl, Josie.  We're head over heels in love with her. Our two golden retrievers are the best adventure partners and are so sweet with our babe.

Best parenting advice: What has helped us so far is to always be consistent with rules and boundaries.  

I can’t live without baby products: I'm not big on "things" but we went down a sleep-deprived google-search rabbit hole one night and stumbled on the Love to Dream swaddle. It helped so much. Once our baby started rolling over, we switched to the Zipadee Zip swaddle and she loves it. A co-sleeper like a Snuggle Me Organic or Dock a Tot is nice for a mama recovering from a rough delivery. 

Best parenting advice you can give to new parents: Take the help that people offer and don't feel bad asking for help. Be gentle with yourself and go easy on the expectations you put on yourself and your baby. You're both doing an amazing job! Oh, and have a good sense of humor. That's essential!

The Indie can cruise through anything! Our roads pile up with snow and the Indie's big wheels roll right over it. We just got back from Iceland and we're so glad we took the Indie stroller with us. The sunshade blocked out the wind and rain and kept our babe warm and snuggly and the all-terrain wheels were a must for such rugged country.
