Upcycled Sea Nets
A ghost net is a fishing net that’s been lost or abandoned in the ocean.
48,000 tons of Ghost Fishing Nets (discarded sea nets) enter the oceans each year. Not only do these discarded nets continue to trap and entangle marine life, but they also never fully break down, becoming microplastics that harm the health of our oceans.

Part of the Bumbleride DNA is to create products through the lens of responsible design. That includes looking at the materials we use and partnering with suppliers who are using innovative solutions.

In 2019 we started working with a Taiwanese based company, RebornPlas, who uses the discarded fishing nets recovered from the Taiwanese oceans and upcycles them into plastic parts. Through a rigorous manufacturing process the nets are transformed into recycled plastic materials pellets with the result being a form of modified plastic that can be applied to numerous uses, including stroller parts.

Beginning with our 2020 Bumbleride Collection, 25% of plastic components on our stroller frame contained upcycled fishing nets recovered from the oceans outside our factory. We're proud to announce that as of 2023, we've increased that to 50% of the plastic components come from upcycled fishing nets removed from local Taiwanese oceans.

Feel good knowing when you purchase a Bumbleride stroller, you’re helping to protect the marine life in our oceans and contributing to a healthier and happier future for the generations to come..
