Safety and Maintenance 101
General Maintenance: Planning for your stroller's long haul.
We often find that our customers are surprised when we talk about stroller maintenance. For busy parents it can be tough remembering to take care of their stroller, however it's good to remember that a stroller is not much different than the bicycle or car in your garage. We recommend doing a quick inspection of your Bumbleride stroller before each use. Check the tire pressure, attachment points, and make sure the front wheel or quick release (previous models) is tightened and clamped and that there isn't anything the way of the brake bar.
If your Bumbleride is having any trouble or you have any questions, please contact our awesome Customer Care at this form.

Tire Pressure
The tire pressure needs to be checked regularly and wheels cleaned from time to time. Bumbleride tires should be kept at around 30psi/2 bar which feels like a properly inflated football, firm but with some give.

Front Wheel Lock
When jogging always ensure the front wheel is in the locked position. For Speed, when jogging or running the wheel should either be in the 30 degree position or fully locked.

Front Wheel Swivel
Looking to tighten your front wheel swivel? You can adjust the fork tension as shown below and in this video.

Wrist Strap
Always use the included wrist strap on hilly terrain or when going above a walking speed. Be sure to always apply the parking brake when stopped.

Infant Mode
When using your Bumbleride with infants, make sure to connect the footrest area fabric to create a bassinet style seat.
Cleaning your Bumbleride
After visits to the beach, lake, snow or river, hose off the wheels, forks & brakes with water. Use a damp cloth and a non-toxic all-purpose cleaner for the frame & handlebar. Sea water and salt can cause some localized corrosion if left on the stroller. Use a scourer and multi-purpose cleaner to remove it. Make sure to stow your Bumbleride dry to reduce the chance of mold or mildew and out of direct sunlight to preserve the fabric color. A clean sponge and an all-surface cleaner will brighten up the cork handle.
We recommend spot cleaning any dirty areas using either a basic detergent or dish soap and water solution. To save time, water and energy we recommend spot washing when possible. All Bumbleride strollers have removable seat fabric that can be machine-washed in cold water with a mild detergent on a delicate cycle. Make sure to always air or line dry fabric components. Do not machine dry. Do not iron. Only air-dry. The canopy fabric cannot be removed or machine washed on 2015 and older models, we recommend spot cleaning the canopy. Wheel Maintenance
Your Bumbleride stroller features air-filled tires which give a smoother ride for your infant and an easier push for you. Air-filled tires will naturally lose air so you will need to top of your tires about once a month on average. Keeping your tires at the optimal pressure increases comfort your passenger and reduces stress on the mechanical components and you. Your stroller comes with a pump (in the cargo basket pocket) which is fine when you’re out & about, but a better solution is to purchase a bicycle ‘track pump’ preferably with a pressure gauge that you keep at home, and which will make the whole procedure a lot easier. Electric or CO2 powered pumps are also an option but beware of over-inflation. Bumbleride tires should be kept at around 30psi/2 bar which feels like a properly inflated football, firm but with some give. Although punctures are rare they can happen. Fortunately, Bumbleride uses regular tire & tube sizes that you can find at your local bicycle store. If you are experiencing a lot of flat tires there are various products available that will seal the hole and keep you rolling (Green Slime, Stan’s No-Flats, Joe’s Super Sealant etc.). Consult your local bicycle store for the best option. You can also find replacement inner tubes on our website here.
The wheels, axles and suspension all need regular cleaning and lubrication. Products we suggest include: CleanRide or Tri-Flow. We recommend adding drops near the hub and bearings of each wheel. You can also turn the stroller over and drop the lubricant into the back wheel axle where the suspension spring is housed. Doing this on a regular basis should prevent any squeaks around the wheels or suspension. Remember that regular maintenance will keep your stroller riding smoothly for years to come!
