Safety and Maintenance 101
General Maintenance: Planning for your stroller's long haul.
We often find that our customers are surprised when we talk about stroller maintenance. For busy parents it can be tough remembering to take care of their stroller, however it's good to remember that a stroller is not much different than the bicycle or car in your garage. We recommend doing a quick inspection of your Bumbleride stroller before each use. Check the tire pressure, attachment points, and make sure the front wheel or quick release (previous models) is tightened and clamped and that there isn't anything the way of the brake bar.
If your Bumbleride is having any trouble or you have any questions, please contact our awesome Customer Care at this form.
Tire Pressure
The tire pressure needs to be checked regularly and wheels cleaned from time to time. Bumbleride tires should be kept at around 30psi/2 bar which feels like a properly inflated football, firm but with some give. More information on wheel maintenance at the bottom of this page.
Front Wheel Lock
When jogging always ensure the front wheel is in the locked position. For Speed, when jogging or running the wheel should either be in the 30 degree position or fully locked.
Front Wheel Swivel
Looking to tighten your front wheel swivel? You can adjust the fork tension as shown below and in this video.
Wrist Strap
Always use the included wrist strap on hilly terrain or when going above a walking speed. Be sure to always apply the parking brake when stopped.
Infant Mode
When using your Bumbleride with infants, make sure to connect the footrest area fabric to create a bassinet style seat.
Cleaning your Bumbleride
Spot clean fabric with a cloth and a non-bleach multi-surface cleaner. Clean the cork handle with a sponge and all-surface cleaner. Machine wash seat and canopy on cold, delicate cycle. Do not tumble dry or iron—air dry only.
If the stroller meets sand, salt, or snow, rinse the wheels, forks, and brakes with water. Wipe the frame and handlebar with a damp cloth and a non-toxic all-purpose cleaner. Saltwater can cause corrosion if left on the stroller—remove it with a scourer and multi-purpose cleaner.

Wheel Maintenance
Yes, your Bumbleride stroller features air-filled tires which gives a smoother ride for your infant and an easier push for you. Air-filled tires naturally lose pressure, so plan to inflate about once a month.
A small pump is included in the cargo basket, which is handy on the go, but a bicycle floor pump with a pressure gauge works best at home. Electric or CO₂ pumps can be used—just be careful not to over-inflate.
Keep tires at about 30 psi (2 bar), firm with slight give, similar to a football. Punctures are rare, but if they happen, the tires and tubes are standard bicycle sizes and easy to replace at a local bike shop. If flats happen often, tire sealants can help. Replacement inner tubes are also available on our website linked here.
