{Excerpt from Run She Is Beautiful Blog by Paula of @fitfam6} Let’s chat about a stroller for a hot minute. It’s not a secret that 99% of all my running is done with a stroller. Fact. However, what I don’t share enough about is that I have tried quite a few strollers (tried 7), either because I own quite a few (ummmm my husband Dave thinks I have a stroller hoarding problem. Embarrassingly, I have 5. I refuse to talk about it) or I have been able to borrow a stroller. I use the stroller for running errands to long runs to all kinds of training workouts. My strollers get put through a lot! Not only with the miles that I put on them, but also with Asher and his behaviors that come along with his disability. Let’s not forget that he was able to literally break a Bugaboo stroller seat less than a year ago because of said behaviors. For a 25lb-ish 5 year old he seems to have Herculean type strength. It has taken me nearly 3 years to find the perfect blend of strollers. Lots of trial and error, paying attention to how Asher responded to each stroller and most importantly how my body responded to each stroller. No two running strollers are made the same. Bumbleride is now my stroller of choice, but about 3 years ago I thought I found the stroller of my dreams and at that time, it was the perfect stroller. Asher went from hating everything about being in any stroller to loving it with the Bugaboo Runner. It got me through 3 training cycles great until Asher simply was too big. The max capacity for the Runner is only 37.5 pounds. Asher is far from that, but he simply got too big. It was awkward for him and there really are no pockets or ways to attach snacks for him. I then moved on to two strollers of varying popularity: Thule Urban Glide stroller and Bob Flex stroller..." READ MORE. "Oh and one last “Hey you should really try this stroller” argument, I ran a local race this past weekend. Last minute sign up read that as 10 minutes before it started I registered. What was suppose to be an easy run day with Asher in the Bumbleride turned into me trying to see what I could do with the stroller racing. My first race with the Bumbleride did not disappoint. I finished top 10, first female OA, first stroller (there were a lot surprisingly) and first in AG. I consider that pretty awesome for my first Bumbleride Stroller race and think it should be convincing enough in itself to let others know Bumbleride is awesome! Learn more about Speed.
