The Kalama's Family Story

The Kalama's Family Story
I was born and raised on the east side of Oahu and ventured to San Diego 10 years ago to pursue a degree in Business. After a decade of toiling in the surf/fashion trade as both a professional surfer and hired hand for different brands in the industry, I co-founded Aloha Beach Club and opened the flagship retail store Aloha Beach Club. In 2015 I opened a second location in my hometown of Kailua, and also launched a small cafe called The Local Hawaii. My wife, Sarah Jacobs is from Palm Desert and is a part time dental hygienist. We have two children Duke (age 2) and Coco (age 1) and together we run a site focusing on family friendly travel and adventure called Hapa Holidays.
With business and family responsibilities we split the majority of our time between San Diego, Palm Springs and Hawaii… which means we are always on the move. We like to go and our bumbleride makes the trip that much more enjoyable. Whether it’s going for for a jog, grabbing a drink with friends, off-roading at the desert, or catching a plane to Hawaii we never leave home without it.
Follow Kahana between San Diego and Hawaii as he manages both his shops and designs his new clothing line that is not only inspired by his home island of Oahu, but also completely manufactured there in the video below.
