Run She Is Beautiful - Baby Mama Division 5k & 5 mile - Santa Barbara

We arrived. We ran (with Speed). We were inspired once again. This was the third consecutive year that we’ve sponsored the Baby Mama Division of the inspiring She is Beautiful run in Santa Barbara (we also sponsor the Santa Cruz run!)  Being there, it’s impossible to not be inspired, encouraged and celebrated.  The two sisters, Melissa McConville (race founder & director) and Sara Tanza (Assistant Race Director & Chief of Fun) wouldn’t have it any other way.  They exude happiness and kindness + see the good in everyone.  Their MORE LOVE attitude is contagious. With motivational words posted all through the course and groups of women from all walks of life walking, running, skipping or pushing a stroller, the race goes by in a blink.  Set right on the Santa Barbara coastline, the beautiful scenery is the icing on the cake. Bumbleride’s mission is to make gear for you to get out and do what you love while doing our best to preserve the planet we all share.  This run helps us see our mission in action. This year, not only did we see tons of parents out running in the fresh air with their little ones in a stroller, we were so thrilled to see RSIB take the waste element to a whole new level with both compost and recycling options next to trash bins.  The race directors regularly attend conferences to help them to reduce their environmental footprint and reduce waste altogether in these large scale events.  So cool. Each year, proudly gift a Bumbleride Speed jogging stroller to each of the winners of the two distances, 5k and 5 miler.  These strong, dedicated mamas deserve it!  Congratulations to the 5k winner, Molly Thomson from Santa Barbara, CA and the 5 mile winner, Laura Ewing from Ventura, CA. She.is.beautiful’s Mission Statement Empowering women and girls through movement and community in a supportive environment where they are able to take the lessons learned on the road and trail into the rest of their lives.  We believe that beauty is more of a feeling than a physical attribute. We believe everyone deserves to feel beautiful, strong, smart, and capable in their own unique way. We believe so strongly in the power of sweat and community. We think there is something powerful that happens when a women/girl learns how strong she really is and how this can impact the rest of her life.
