April 12, 2023 Beach Clean Up Recap

Bumbleride Beach Clean Up #20

Law Street, Pacific Beach, CA

We are a rain or shine kind of crew when it comes to beach clean ups. I think this was our coldest one yet. We've had very wet Winter and Spring seasons in San Diego, CA, where we are headquartered, so when Earth Month arrived, we kept the date we committed to and hit the beach ready to make an impact.

Our friends at Tourmaline Collective and Local H20 the Water Store in Pacific Beach joined us for the fun. We even had some bundled up little ones equipped with the coveted grabbers and gloves running around picking up trash.

A few things we noticed this time around:

-lots of microplastics caught in the piles of seaweed

Microplastics are small plastic pieces less than five millimeters long which can be harmful to our ocean and aquatic life.

-too many plastic bottle caps to count

-hundreds of cigarette butts (only for grownups to pick up safely with grabbers) around park benches

Let's all do our part by first, saying no to plastic, disposable bottles and containers. Bring your own bags and reusable earth-friendly containers. And wherever you and your family go, clean up and leave it better than you found it.

Thanks for reading! Join us next time - stay tuned for our Bumbleride Summer Clean Up.
