Indie is now Consumer Reports Expert Pick for Jogging Strollers

We were excited to find out that Consumer Reports who's mission is to work side by side with consumers for truth, transparency, and fairness in the marketplace has recommended our Indie and Speed strollers, and plans to test our Era and Indie Twin in the near future. Here is the information from their expert take on Indie.

The Indie has been rated highest in it's class and been named the "Experts Pick for Best Jogging Stroller". The overall score for this model is an 82/100

The Bumbleride Indie is part of the Strollers test program at Consumer Reports. In our lab tests, Traditional and other strollers models like the Indie are rated on multiple criteria, such as those listed below.

Ease of use: Ease of use is based primarily on ease of using and adjusting the safety harness, folding and unfolding, adjusting the backrest, lifting and carrying, engaging wheel brakes and car seat removal and installation (only for compatible strollers).

Maneuverability: Maneuverability is assessed by trained testers, taking into account how well each stroller, with a weight bag "passenger," maneuvers on our course: in S-turns through cones, in narrow sections, on grass, dirt trails with tree roots and other debris, uphill, downhill and up and down curbs.

Safety: Safety is assessed by testing to the requirements of the federal stroller safety standard, 16 CFR Parts 1112 and 1227, which incorporates, by reference, the most current version of the ASTM stroller safety standard, ASTM F833-19. We also put strollers through Stability and Braking and other tests designed by CR.

Pros: Sturdy. Large storage basket. Air-filled tires may give smoother ride, but add a maintenance chore. Suitable for running or jogging. Suitable for infants 6 months and younger without purchased accessory. Handle is adjustable. One-touch brakes.

Cons: Lacks parent and child trays.

CR's Takes: The Bumbleride Indie is a high-performing traditional stroller that can also be used for jogging. Its maneuverability and safety features are impressive, with a sturdy feel, high responsiveness, and good shock absorption. Testers also found the stroller very easy to use, and it comes with an adjustable handle and one-touch brakes for added convenience. Its air-filled tires make for a smoother ride, though they also add a maintenance chore. At 25 pounds and 25 inches wide, it's not the most compact option on the market, but its medium folded size is manageable. It's suitable for use with children 6 months and under, though you shouldn't jog with infants that young. It's not car-seat compatible as sold, though you can purchase adapters to use it with certain car seats.

One of the cons stated for Indie was it lacked parent trays but in actuality we do have a parent pack which you can find here. Also it was stated that the stroller is not car seat compatible as sold.
